Sleeping.

Today (Halloween) I had the kids take a nap. Something they don't do anymore, but I bribed them with staying up late and trick or treating! So, I go to wake them up and this is what I found...Maylyn had fallen out of bed! And apparently didn't wake up from the fall.
Check back tomorrow for our Halloween pics!

Pumpkin.

Today was pumpkin carving day in Maylyn's Pre-K class.
She was not too crazy about getting all of the insides of the pumpkin out.
It "felt gooey."I had to tell her to smile while she was doing it. :)Then she drew the face on.I don't have any pictures of her carving the pumpkin because I was helping. But here's what we used.Holy crap, this was the handiest tool ever! The husband bought it for me at Michaels. I'm really glad we had it, otherwise it would have taken forever to carve that thing.

Here's the final product! Maylyn and her very first pumpkin!

School Pictures.

We got school pictures back!
I was surprised they took the Pre-K kids pictures, but super excited for Maylyn to get a chance to feel like a "big kid."Scanning them into the computer kinda messed up the color of the pics and I didn't feel like adjusting them in my photo program. So here you go! One first grader, and one Pre-K kid.
I love it, they turned out so cute!

Crazy Hair.

Today is Crazy Hair Day at Kaeleigh's school. We decided to straighten half of her hair and leave the other half curly. One of her friends saw her from the "straight side" and didn't recognize her! Totally reminds me of Tommy Lee's Batman character...except for the ugly/deformed part.Happy Friday everyone!

Playing.

Our friends John and Carrie gave us a playset they no longer had room for. Here's a couple pics of the kids playing this afternoon.Looks like Kaeleigh's floating...Close up on Kaeleigh. Here's the result of trying to get a close up of Maylyn.
First, craziness.
Second, sass.
Third, Jake steals the spotlight! Thanks John and Carrie! The kids (and Jake) love it!

Happy Birthday.

Today is my husband's birthday!
We spoiled him today. He requested meat loaf, mash potatoes, and corn for dinner. So I rocked a meat loaf recipe his sister sent me. And for dessert we had a Cream Cheese pie (because he doesn't like cake, crazy I know!) from Marie Callendar's. Happy Birthday babe! We love you!
(Our kids are pretty much going to be adorable.)

I ♥ Free.

I don't know about you, but my kids are off of school this whole week and I'm trying to come up with fun/inexpensive ways to fill the days. (Otherwise mom will go crazy.)
Feel free to steal these ideas. :)
Freestone Park: They have a miniature train that goes around the park. $3 per person to ride. They also have a carousel, wave runner, and mini ferris wheel. Each $2 per person to ride.
Or if you want to avoid the whole "getting kids off of rides, possible tantrum scene" (you know what I'm talking about) Then just bring along a bag of bread and feed the ducks!
Free this Tuesday...the Desert Botanical Garden. Every 2nd Tuesday of the month (October 13th) admission is free from 1-8pm. The Monarch Butterfly Exhibit is free from 1-5pm. I'm really excited about this. I've never been to the DBG, and what's better than free?
We'll likely take advantage of our membership to the AZ Science Center and if the weather stays like it is a trip to the Phoenix Zoo might be in order. Just some ideas to fill the week. If you know of anything else, let me know! I have a feeling it's gonna be a LONG week. :)

This week.

This week started with one sick Maylyn. And ended with one sick Kaeleigh. Each with ear infections. They both missed school. And I got to make two trips to the doctor! Score!
Here they are looking really sick.I got a little crafty this week and decoupaged on some wood letters for some friends of ours that are having a little one any day now. Can't wait to meet little Aden Cash! Also this week, our baby turned 6 months old.
Here's Jake at 6 weeks. Just a little monster. And here he is. 6 months old. A big giant monster that's still growing. Can you believe it's October already?? It'll be Christmas before you know it! Sheesh!

"Ok Maylyn, what do you want?"
"Macaroni and cheese."
