We're home! It was a great trip but I'm so glad to be back in the good ole US of A.
I've got so many pictures from the trip. I'm only going to post a few of my favs to help tell the story of our honeymoon.

We flew out of Sky Harbor. But before we left Bill got hit on by a beauty queen while I was in the bathroom. Seriously? Can't leave my husband for 5 minutes and he's getting hit on. The funniest part was when I got back from the bathroom and the beauty queen (crown and all) tells me that she just hit on my husband. Ha ha, beauty queen, don't make me smack you.
Once we arrived in Cancun, I started melting. Hello humidity! I started to resemble Monica in Barbados. (It's the humidity!!)

We were picked up by our booking company at the airport and no sooner had we turned from the aeropuerto did we get pulled over by the policia! Classic. I totally forgot to grab my camera to capture the whole thing.
We stayed at the Riu Palace Mexico in Playa del Carmen.
Saturday July 11, 2009 Saturday was our first full day at the beach. I've never seen anything so beautiful. Our view from our loungers.

Right after a dip in the ocean.

Did I mention it was a Brazilian style beach?? I have seen enough strangers breasts for a lifetime!

We decided to venture into town and do some shopping. Playa del Carmen's 5th Avenue was shopping central. I've never been yelled at by so many Mexicans in my life! "Come on, I make you a good deal. Only 400 pesos!"
I started to feel much better once I found the Starbucks. :)

Bill had booked an excursion to Xel-ha. (shell-ha) It's a natural aquarium so we were snorkeling with the fish! It was my first time snokeling. Totally fun after I realized that I could still breath with my head in the water. Took me a little while to get over that weird sensation.
Our tour guide was hilarious. His name was Fermin. His friends and family call him Chacho. He took us first to Xel-ha and later to Tulum.
First in Xel-ha: Me learning how to snorkel in the Inlet.
Some of our new fish friends swimming underneath us.

And once I got the hang of it we decided to snorkel down the river. It's two-thirds of a mile long. Seriously the coolest thing ever. We saw so many fish.

These little guys were right in our faces!
This was pretty cool.

Now, I'm not a huge fan of birds but I figured the girls would get a kick out of seeing me holding one. That one on my shoulder was freaking me out!

The second part of the day was spent at the Mayan ruins at Tulum.
Here I am sweating my ass off and being attacked by mesquitos.

These guys were everywhere!!
Tuesday July 14, 2009 We were so exhausted from the day before that we slept in late. Then we walked down the street to Plaza Playacar to do some more shopping. I was checking out Bill, checking out the sale.

Later that night Bill suggested a moonlight walk on the beach. So romantic!

More beach time. Searcing for seashells for the girls. That's all they wanted us to bring home..JPG)
Too be continued....
