We gave the girls two old cell phones to play with.
They were old phones of the Husband's that no longer had SIM cards in them. But we had recharged the batteries so that they lit up and made noise.
So we were pretending to make calls.
I let them "call" my phone and I'd make the ringer go off like it had actually worked.
They were getting a big kick out of it.
A little while later, Kaeleigh came out from her room and said,
"Maylyn's talking to someone on her phone."
In comes Maylyn.
She hands me her phone and I say, "hello?" Not expecting anyone to actually respond.
"Hello this is the police. You've got a very sweet little girl there. Most kids hang up when I ask to talk to their mom or dad."
Oh wow. Talk about embarrassing.
Did you know that you can still make emergency calls on an old cell phone that no longer has it's SIM card?
Well you can.
And Maylyn did.
So I had a nice little conversation with police dispatch yesterday...
and the cell phones got taken away. :)
I didn't know that! And we've given Veronica old phones to play with, too...
ReplyDeleteIf the battery is charged on the phone you can still call 911. LOL I had no idea. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! No, I had no idea that you could still make emergency calls. Oops!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you posted that. I was just going to charge up our old cell phone for Lucy and Elsa to play with. They play with it now without it being charged, but have been begging me to put in new batteries.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! So funny!
