Maylyn.

Second grade has been going much better for Maylyn than first grade did.

She's more confident in her reading and in herself.  We only had tears one day but her teacher (who knew of last years struggles) talked to her and there haven't been any tears since.  I love, love, love her teacher.  She's so awesome.  

There's definitely more work in 2nd grade.  On a couple of occasions I've found Maylyn like this after school:

 Ha ha!  Poor baby. She needs her rest.

Maylyn loves to read to Ryan.  When I was pregnant and she would do her nightly reading, Ryan would be kicking away in my belly and I would say, "Ryan likes to hear you read!"

 And now that he's here he really does like it!  He just smiles and smiles at her.

 My Maylyn is also very resourceful.  She found a solution to Ryan's crying in the car the other day.
