Baby Shower.

Today was my baby shower.
(That's right, today.  I'm getting caught up on the blog! Yay!)
My mom and my best friend Lisa hosted the shower and it was a total success.

Sniffing "poopy" diapers.  I love this game.

I'm pretty excited about getting a diaper pail.  :)
My mom, my sister, and me posing.
 Baby boy's cake.
 All of Baby's amazing gifts.
We're so lucky to have so many amazing and generous friends that love this baby already!

BFF.

What's better than lunch with your best friend?
Huge thanks to both of our husbands for keeping the kids so we could have a relaxing lunch.

Just a super funny picture to show just how long Lisa and I have been friends.
Judging by my Brownie Girl Scout uniform I'm probably around 2nd grade?
And that's Lisa next to me rocking the one shoulder strap overalls.
Classic.

Zoo.

The kids and I are on October Break this week so we took a trip to the zoo with our pals Macee and Easton.
Apparently everyone else thought it would be a good idea to go to the zoo because it was packed!
Waiting in line to see the Koalas.
Kaeleigh was pretty happy.  She got to see two of the animals she learned about in her summer school program.
A koala and a wallaby.
Don't ask me how all four of them managed to get in the oyster shell...
Sitting on a (fake) warthog.
I had them sit on these foot massagers because we had taken a picture exactly like this two years ago and I wanted to compare them...
2010
2008
 I love these comparisons.
You can really see how much they've grown.

Summer fun.

Yesterday was the first day of summer vacation.
I set up a play date with my friend Christene and her kids Macee and Easton.

I first met Christene in 2004 when we worked for the same company.
Kaeleigh was 9 months old at the time and Macee was 6 months old.
We found out we were pregnant with our second children within days of each other.
Basically, our kids have been friends since they were infants and they LOVE each other.
I'm not sure what we were thinking but we took the kids to play at the McDonald's play place.  On the first day of summer vacation.  Yeah...
Needless to say, the place was a madhouse!
We decided to bail and head back to Christene's house to swim and hang out.

The kids loved playing in the sandbox.

Not a whole lot of room but they all wanted to play together.
I had taken my girls to Old Navy to pick out new swim suits for summer.
And they were on sale for $9!  Score!
Here's what Kaeleigh picked.
And here is Maylyn's choice.  I love the slit in the back.
They are getting more and more comfortable in the pool.
Maylyn more so than Kaeleigh but we're working on it.
And those arm floaties?  Found them at Dollar Tree.
When we finally left their house last night Kaeleigh kept saying,"That was the best play date of my life!"  Ha ha!  That girl is hilarious!
We've had a lot of fun so far today as well, but that will have to wait til the next post because I need a nap!

Playdate.

Today we had a playdate with some old friends of mine.
I've known Brian, and his sister Perianne, since elementary school.
He's in the Navy and lives out of state now so it's been 9 years since I've seen him!
He and his wife are in town visiting family so we met up at McDonalds so the kids could play and the adults could catch up.
Here's Maylyn with her four new friends.  (Kaeleigh was at school.)
Group shot number one. Brian, his sister Perianne, and their kids.  Plus Maylyn and I.
And then Perianne switched places with Brian's wife Jess for group pic number two.
Maylyn was hiding behind me.  :)
We spend 3 hours at McD's.
The kids were exhausted but it was great being able to catch up with old friends!
